Advertisement Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Hi calshot, Take a look here Huey Pro . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
richam Posted November 9, 2010 Share #2 Posted November 9, 2010 Are you running the latest Huey for Intel Macs? I have version 1.0.4, and it works fine on my new iMac: Huey Downloads
dhsimmonds Posted November 9, 2010 Share #3 Posted November 9, 2010 I also had this problem when I changed to an iMac even with the latest download from Pantone. The Huey seemed to profile the screen and produced a new profile which hardly varied fron the iMac's default setting. The Huey didn't adjust the screen with ambient light changes either. I was told that it's a 32 bit/64bit software compatibility problem. I have now invested in a Datacolor Spyder 3 Elite upgraded to 4 software which automatically adjusts the iMac's screen brightness and contrast and performs a faultless calibration profile from the iMac's default screen profile. Using the correct profiles for the paper I am using I now get prints that near enough match the screen image. If you or anyone else decides to use the Spyder 3 Elite, you should ensure that you purchase it with the upgrade to version 4 as this is the bit that gets into the iMac's brightness/contrast setting software to enable such a good calibration. Well worth the investment IMHO.
calshot Posted November 9, 2010 Author Share #4 Posted November 9, 2010 Well even more confused now.I downloaded what I assumed to be the correct app for my iMac.When I checked the version it came up 1.51.Isn't that a Windows version? So I have re-installed again from the download now I am getting a red square top right and the programme, when you run starts off brown not green. So does the iMac not support the Huey Pro? wparsonsgisnet Posted November 9, 2010 Share #5 Posted November 9, 2010 Rob, I had to convert the sw version when my windoze machine died. I called the Huey guys and they found my purchase record and sent me a link to the correct sw version for my MBP. They were really nice and the software works like a charm. The Pro version is required to calibrate a second monitor.

richfx Posted November 15, 2010 Share #10 Posted November 15, 2010 I have had the same problem. You'll need to unplug and then plug the USB back into your mac each time you power it up. Pretty bad bug, but that's the fix. Rich
calshot Posted November 15, 2010 Author Share #11 Posted November 15, 2010 Thanks Rich Pretty much as I have discovered. No it's not much of a fix.I suppose the Huey is getting old now so I expect they would prefer we just went out and purchased an upgrade. Rob Rob, the upgrade is probably free. See what they say about your unit. The Pro doesn't seem much different from the Regular except for calibrating a second screen.
