High to all, I am new to this forum and Leica cameras, I have a substancial DSLR kit for my sports and BW landscapes images but wanted to go out when not working and enjoy photograpthy without all the weight and equipment, so the bought the dlux5 and can say getting used to the different shooting style and loving not carrnig a bag that weighs 1/2 ton:). I was a little dubious about the quality from a compact afterr using FF DSLRs but I am actually pleasently surprised with the output from such a small sencor, in fact I am amazed at the quality and would happly use it for landscape work which I aways convert to mono. Here are a few shots O took on Sunday morning, the weather was orriabl, dull and murky but went for shapes, angles etc.

Just a question, is there any way filters can be used on the dlux5 or is it a make shift thing where you just have to hold them in front of the lens, mainly ND filters I use ?

Martin--I'm impressed! Very nice shots! I've got a D-Lux 4 and am also delighted with its quality of output.

BTW, if you hadn't mentioned the reflection, I'd have missed it. That must have been one still day!

And I'm doubly impressed that your knees got you close enough for that first one! ;)

Welcome to the forum. :)

In regard to filters: Check Panasonic's site for LX5 accessories. There's a tube (DMW-LA6) that you screw onto the front of the lens housing mount, and then use any 52mm filter.

Here's the explanation from page 203 of the LX5 manual:

That same adapter tube lets you attach a wide-angle attachment that brings you down to ca 18mm equivalent. But the version for the D-Lux 4 is optically mediocre; don't know about the new one. Maybe you could be the first to try it out! :D
