JeTexas Posted October 25, 2010 Share #1 Â Posted October 25, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) My X1 is powering on and focusing with no problems, but when I click it off, the screen freezes on the Leica logo and the lens doesn't retract. If I pull the battery and flip the switch around it will turn on, then back off. Â Anyone else had this happen? It's done it to me 3 times today. Unfortunately I bought it used, so I'm not sure if I have any recourse under warranty unless the original owner will make a claim for me.
Advertisement Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Hi JeTexas, Take a look here X1 won't turn off. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
h00ligan Posted October 25, 2010 Share #2 Â Posted October 25, 2010 Does anyone know where the backup battery is located? Pulling both should get the job done... (i haven't had this happen with the x1, but on other cameras strange behaviour like this tends to be reset with a full camera reset as described)

I don't think there's any sort of backup battery. Â I checked it this evening, and it's turning off again, so that's good, but it's got me worried. h00ligan Posted October 25, 2010 Share #4 Â Posted October 25, 2010 There has to be some kind of backup battery to hold basic info like date and time I'd think...but leica may be using a rechargeable internal atherosclerosis than a user replaceable. Anyway, I'm really not sure how that works but I'm glad you sorted it out.
nigelb Posted October 25, 2010 Share #5 Â Posted October 25, 2010 ,,,a rechargeable internal atherosclerosis than a user replaceable...... Â Sorry but an arterial disease is lost on me in this context. Â Backup is probably flash memory, doesn't need a battery.
Mr_Jones Posted October 25, 2010 Share #6 Â Posted October 25, 2010 I have had this exact problem a couple of times, I think the firmware is to blame.
