@bumac Posted October 23, 2010 Share #1 Posted October 23, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Perhaps I am not the first one who asks this: I will use Arista Premium 400. Now I'm looking for the developer. With Neopan (100/400) and T-Max 100 I allways have worked with T-Max-Dev. Will it work well with Arista? What can you say about Arista in Rodinal compared to T-Max-Dev? Thank You.
Advertisement Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Hi @bumac, Take a look here Arista/ T-Max-Dev? Or Rodinal?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Chuck Albertson Posted October 23, 2010 Share #2 Posted October 23, 2010 I haven't shot Arista 400, but both developers work fine with any film. T-Max gives really good results with faster films, but is a bit more expensive on a per-roll basis than Rodinal. Rodinal will give you sharp negatives that also display the grain of faster films, which bothers some people. T-Max is more of a grain-shaver that will give you a smoother look. When I shoot Tri-X or HP5+ for development in Rodinal, I usually rate them at EI 250 instead of box speed, but that's just my preference.
