Using Sanho Hyperdrive Album with M8 or M9 .DNG files

I have a new, highly-reviewed Sanho Hyperdrive Album portable digital storage unit/viewer with a nice, big 4.8" screen and a hefty 320GB drive that can hold over 15,000 18MB .dng files from my Leica M9.

So far, so good. But there is a problem with it and the way it displays images.

If I load an SDHC card into the Hyperdrive, they come up on the screen, 15 at a time, sharp and bright with the word "RAW" on each one. But if I click on a single image to look at it full-size on the screen, the Hyperdrive proceeds to "decode" the .DNG file, and after it finishes doing so in a few seconds, the decoded image comes up on the screen full-size, but very dark and very soft in terms of focus.

To me the whole idea of a device is: to save and store the image until I can download it to my main computer, and second, to be able to view the image with decent color, sharpness, and brightness. That isn't happening. Does anyone out there have one of these devices and have any thoughts on what it going on and how I can correct it?

According to their website, Sanho does support Leica DNG files. Do you have the latest firmware loaded on your hyperdrive? It could be that the DNG processing software is not optimised for the M8/M9 too well. I'd suggest contacting Sanho through their website and asking them directly.
