dickgrafixstop Posted October 14, 2010 Share #1 Posted October 14, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) In view of the vlux 20 and the photokina announcements, would you please consider placing a compact digital camera sub forum under digital photography? Probably don't need one for each individual offering, but there does seem to be significant interest in dlux/vlux/clux. Thank you
Advertisement Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Hi dickgrafixstop, Take a look here New sub forum please - compact leicas. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
bill Posted October 14, 2010 Share #2 Posted October 14, 2010 Dick, I can see your logic, but isn't that the de facto case? The digital Ms and S have their own sub fora, as does post-processing. What benefit would it serve to sub-divide further? Regards, Bill
stunsworth Posted October 14, 2010 Share #3 Posted October 14, 2010 I'm repeating myself, but I'd like to see the following digital sub-forums... Digital M (M8, 9, 10 etc.) Digital SLR (DMR, S2, S3 etc). Digital compact (X1, Panny clones) Digital processing Everything Else However, I think Andreas feels that the current structure is the bet because it attracts M9 and X1 users to the existing sub-forums. marknorton Posted October 14, 2010 Share #4 Posted October 14, 2010 Bill, I know you probably read Ovid's Metamorphoses as a little light relief from Frank's postings, but shouldn't it be "forums" not "fora"? The OED says the plural of forum in this context is "forums" not "fora". "Fora" is reserved for public squares or marketplaces in ancient Roman cities... bill Posted October 14, 2010 Share #5 Posted October 14, 2010 Call me old fashioned, Mark although I must admit I would tend to bow to the OED. I confess I had always thought it was interchangeable in today's world. Actually, I read The Beano as light relief under the circumstances you mention - I find it more true to life Coming back to the OP, I can see where Steve is going too. To be honest there are other changes that I would like to see first - top of the list being a lens forum - than further subdivision of the digital side.
