Steffen.K.Larsen Posted October 13, 2010 Share #1 Â Posted October 13, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, Â I'm strongly considering ditching my DSLR and strobist gear, in favour of the Leica X1. Â However, I'm considering keeping a minimum of the strobist gear, to still be able to do a bit with it. Â So my question is: will Elinchrom Skyports work with the Leica X1? I assume it will, but I haven't been able to find anyone mentioning it. I'd rather be on the safe side. Â Thankyou!

Steffen.K.Larsen Posted October 14, 2010 Author Share #2 Â Posted October 14, 2010 Maybe I should expand the question: have anyone used a radio trigger on the X1?
RockyIII Posted October 14, 2010 Share #3 Â Posted October 14, 2010 I have not used a Skyport, Pocket Wizard, or any flash trigger other than a Nikon SU-800 (not radio) with Nikon cameras and flashes, but it seems the Skyport should work on an X1 just as well as it does on other cameras. Have you tried contacting Elinchrom? Â Rocky
Andrius J. Posted October 17, 2010 Share #4 Â Posted October 17, 2010 Yes, I use Elinchrom Skyport triggers on X1 an they work perfectly, as with Pocketwizards and all other triggers, including chinese ones.

JMacD Posted January 26, 2011 Share #8 Â Posted January 26, 2011 The skyport is excellent, and inproved in the last year I think. I have not used them on an X1, but have on an Leica D lux4. All you are doing is tripping the radio signal, so as long as you have a hot shoe you are good to go. If you like Elinchrom see this link. The first photo was using a skyport on the D-Lux: Â The Online Photographer: Studio in a Box...
robert blu Posted September 10, 2011 Share #9 Â Posted September 10, 2011 When using Elinchrom + skysports do you need any special setting on the x1? I assume that using the camera in manual (slow time) and checking a few test shots in order to find the correct iso/aperture combo is the way, but I never tried. Any suggestions are welcome. robert
