Constable Posted October 10, 2010 Share #1 Posted October 10, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I don't know if anyone has had any experience with the S2 cable release. My example just decided to deconstruct itself in my camera bag (I probably partially unsrewed at some point I suppose). I think I have all the bits .... but does anyone know the correct assembly sequence? The critical questions relate to parts A and B ... which way round do they go? How doe you ensure the pins are correctly lined up? And weher does the spring go? before using the good old trial and error approach, I though I'd see if anyone had first hand experience of the interior of this releae. Thanks in advance Ed

markowich Posted October 11, 2010 Share #2 Posted October 11, 2010 ed, don't even bother. just bring it back to the dealer and have it replaced. that is what i did with mine since it wasn't working properly. unless you need a challenge of retro-engineering. peter
Constable Posted October 11, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted October 11, 2010 Thanks Peter That's actually what I decided as I'm trying out the Pocket Wizards on Friday Cheers Ed
jank Posted October 17, 2010 Share #4 Posted October 17, 2010 These connectors are most likely made by Lemo or Connek ( second source). They cost less than $10 (Connek). Cheap. Get few as spares. Jan

Constable Posted October 18, 2010 Author Share #6 Posted October 18, 2010 Thanks Pete, Actually the problem is more with the RRS L-bracket - it makes access to the socket a bit toght and a tendency to twist! That was probably the problem. All solved by the application of money and a replacement cable ... which I might just partially "deconstruct" to see how it all goes together!
