JimHsu Posted October 7, 2010 Share #1 Posted October 7, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) This should a short story. Last time she traveld to Germany was because the back wheel was not functioning well. It was the same October, but in 2009. The distributor here in Taiwan told me that it must be sent to Germany because they were not able to fix it here. Then after 2-3 months she came back to me but another problem happened. (sorry the waiting was just too long to make me remember the exact length) The camera tended to stop working after a few minutes of use. The distributor solved this problem by re-installing the firmware the other day. The man from LEICA who's in charge of my camera's fix this time sent his message to our distributor something like "We are sorry about this." Well...I think I'm the one who really feels sorry, sorry about my decision about buying this camera... Now there's another problem. When I took out the battery from the camera, the clock inside the camera will stop counting. Actually this is not a big problem though a little big annoying. And again our distributor asked me if I would book my camera another ticket to Germany. (of course it's free of charge because it's still under warranty) I think everyone who has spent so much money would undoubtedly want to use a camera which works perfectly. Today our distributor will sent my lovely silver M8.2 to Germany and luckily I will get it back within 2 months. (But I don't really expect that) But the warranty will expire in February, 2011. And the distributor told me that they will not extend my warranty after it comes back to me. Here in Taiwan our distributor offer 2 years of warranty, and for fixing the camera (not caused by my use) it has already taken at least 2 month away and now will take more. I doubt if this is the same in other countries? It's really not convenient to spend so much time on delivery/fixing the camera. But it seems I have no choice. The funny thing is, I think I will cherish this camera when it came back to me. And might probably keep using it until it got totally boken. There must be some mysterious connection between us that keeps me not giving her up. And it's really a great thing to use this camera to wander around the streets and take pictures.
