Â My experience, too, with small sensor compacts. Anything over 400 ISO is unusable, and even that can be marginal. X1 @ high ISO is superb -- as one review put it, the best, bar none. Depends how often you use high ISO of course, but it is a decider. Â One wonders why they bother even adding high ISO settings to small-sensor compacts, considering the execrable IQ, except as a mere marketing ploy.
