Doc - a lovely series - but I would also have loved to see what you could have got with a longer lens. Somehow the 35 seems to wide for a lot of the frames you were trying to make. Otherwise I suppose you could have waded out further... :)

Henry,

Thanks for your explanation of the difference between the b&w and color versions. I would have never considered that. At any rate the are all lovely pictures and a great travelogue

Paul

Hi Paul,

Literally and figuratively, Vietnam is a country that has suffered greatly from war.

There is a whole generation that has known wars, against the French first and then against the Americans.

I visited several war museums , and in general all the photos are only in b&w

The war photographers had only b&w films.

Now everything is different, the war is over and Vietnam is becoming more friendly, more welcoming and I think the color makes this atmosphere :).

A gorgeous, pacefull picture, I like very much the B&W version of the first one.

Thank you Enrico.

I recommend this place if you go there one day in Vietnam. You'll love it,

and you can take plenty of photos of cemeteries if you want :), not in the same style as the Cemetery of Pere Lachaise :)

Sincèrement

Henry

Thank you Chris,

I unfortunately could not take my Elmar 135mm and Summicron 90mm with me because i was loaded and my poor shoulder is starting to take on the age....:)

I regret very much not able to bring also my 2 Leica SLR (R8 and R4S) with me with tele lenses.

To make you happy, I have pictures of fishermen who are seen closer and I'll post here.

Thank you for your comment and your just suggestion

Regards

Henry

Again, stunning. Great composition, lovely colors and mood portrayed. Lovely all around.

Thank you Eddie

It's pretty hard to describe, sometimes, the ambience of a place through a picture.

I tried to show this side of the picturesque and serene seaside

The best thing is to see really this beautiful nature, which is quite rare nowadays because invaded by concrete

Regards

Henry

As promised to Chris, here's a photo of a fisherman (taken closer) at Lang Co beach, preparing his boat for night fishing

notice the lights on the boat
