pauledell Posted September 30, 2010 Share #2 Posted September 30, 2010 Philipp, A great series with stunning impact. Excellent choice for the focal length of the lens. The viewpoint, composition and atmosphere. These are exciting pictures that I enjoy a lot. I hope the parasailer made it to his destination safely. pop Posted October 2, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted October 2, 2010 Paul, Thank you very much for your generous remarks. Both lens and vantage point just "happened" to be as they were. A bit of timing was quite helpful, of course. I can assure you that the glider arrived safely at wherever he landed. This particular mountain is often used for this purpose. What's a bit unusual is that the pilot took off from the ground. Normally, they are flown by the half-dozen to somewhere above the mountain and dropped off the plane. They usually land on a landing field on the delta of the nearby river Maggia or on the airport of Magadino. They are common as the housefly, here, and no one gives them a second glance.
