Hi

Not familiar with Plymouth, but likely to be quaint to your eyes.

But London for two days best option is

Sat all day from 09:00 till 16:00 Portabello Road, wall to wall locals and tourists

Sun all day from 07:00 till 17:00 ColombiaRoad, to Middlesex Street,to Spitalfields, & to Brick Lane,

You need walking shoes.

Unless you have digital you are going to lose the light early.

Which week end had you in mind?

Noel.

Hi Noel,

I will be not too far away at the end of next week but I don't think I'll time to meet up.

I don't know Plymouth but there is a good camera shop in Brixham.

Totnes is interesting.

If you also like landscapes you will be near Dartmoor, nice views & tors (rock formations). There is one tor called "Bowerman's nose" which is really amazing. There are also stone circles (Scorhill, Shovel Down & The Long Stone (very close to Scorhill), etc.)

Brent Tor is very nice.

If you are into castles I can recommend Berry Pomeroy.

More place of interest:

- Burgh Island

- Dartmouth

Have fun !

Ian

I'd worry about anyone who found Plymouth 'quaint'! There's very little there that isn't a post-war concrete abomination. The Barbican is your best bet and you can always visit the Plymouth gin distillery while you're there. Best bets for sightseeing are as others have said. I'd also recommend getting the branchline 'Tamar Valley' train to Calstock or taking the Cremyll ferry to Mt Edgcumbe-both these are good photographically and can be combined with a pint or two!

Please don't think that Plymouth is representative of Devon, it's not even the county town!
