Teddyp Posted September 28, 2010 Share #1 Posted September 28, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Can anyone tell me how to determine how many photos my D2 has taken. Also do you know how many photos a camera like this can take?
Advertisement Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Hi Teddyp, Take a look here Digilux 2 info needed. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
lesh Posted September 28, 2010 Share #2 Posted September 28, 2010 There was a thread recently on this very subject..................if you do a search............. However if the original poster doesn't mind, here are his instructions. quote: ok, here they are. At your own risk. For me it works fine. :-) 1) Make sure that you have insert a full battery in your D2! Put a sd-card into the slot and make some pictures. Turn the power "Off". 2) Set the mode dial to "Single picture". 3) Press "Flash" (the small button on the right top of the cam) and "Up" on the cross key simultan, hold them and turn "On" the power. 4) Press simultan "Flash", "Menu" and "Left". Now you are at the error code memory screen. 5) Press simultan "Flash", "Menu" and "Left" again and whoops here are the most interesting infos. The camera information is interpreted below: VER 1.0B : 001D -> Firmware version is 1.0B. NO.: S010XXXXXXXXXX -> A 12-digit number with a "S" prefix. (Motherboard serial number?) PWRCNT: 834 -> Power On Count, the number of times camera turned on. SHTCNT: 5873 -> Shutter Count, the number of times shutter fired. STBCNT: 80 -> Strobe Count, the number of times flash fired. 6) Turn "Off" the power. This procedure works also with the lumic lc1. unquote
Teddyp Posted September 28, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted September 28, 2010 Thank you so much, very few users out here know how these cameras actually work. As an Engineer I am happy to see that someone still cares to know how something works not just how well it works. It is a shame that Leica does not update this camera with a full frame sensor to show off the beauty of the D2 lens.

lesh Posted September 30, 2010 Share #6 Posted September 30, 2010 Thanks, Lesh, it works great, I have on Digilux 2 VER: 1.0B & on Lumix LC1 VER: 1.0A, the both cameras works fine. Thanks Lesh. Alberto thanks, but I can't take any credit, all kudos go to the original poster, I just saved his tip 'cos I felt it would continue to be useful. Which Merida are you in - Mexico or Spain? I only had a brief acquaintance with the Spanish one a couple of years ago - lovely place, lots of photo ops, marvelous town square for a late evening nightcap and stroll (and probably just as fine in Merida, MX too).
