so i went ahead and bought this lens : AUTO YASHINON - DX 1:1.7 F=50MM yashica japan

it does not fit onto my m8 using the screw mount adapter i have right now which i use to attach my jupiter 8 50 lens

if someone could be so kind as to very clearly, pretend you are explaining this to a child if you must, explain exactly what type and where i can find the precise adaptor i need to use this lens on my camera.

i would be really grateful.

Mikel,

Your Yashinon lens has what is referred to as M-42 or Pentax/Praktica thread mount. You will need an M-42 to Leica Thread mount adapter and a Leica Thread to M mount adapter. You already have the one of those - the one that you are using to attach the Jupiter lens. The other adapter looks like this:

*NEW* ADAPTER Pentax M42 lense TO LEICA L39 SCREW MOUNT - eBay (item 400155323074 end time Oct-17-10 13:41:35 PDT)

It will probably cost more than you paid for the lens…….

Good luck,

Jan
