SteveYork Posted September 23, 2010 Share #1 Posted September 23, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm still getting a blue cast even with a Nikon 9000 and this scanner has a special setting for this film. Adjusting the blue light levels help, but the colors appear a little muted. The film is about 2 years out of date, but the slides on the light box look fine. I've done about 1000 scans with this machine this year (mostly c41) and have found it very much "idiot proof" until I ran into these slides. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Advertisement Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Hi SteveYork, Take a look here Tips on Scanning Kodachrome. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jacarape Posted September 23, 2010 Share #2 Posted September 23, 2010 Steve, can you post a few images, recheck scanner settings and maybe try scanning a friends Kodachrome slide that has scanned previously correctly? Kodachrome is nice, in sun. In shade it's kinda ho-hum, for example below.
Xmas Posted September 23, 2010 Share #3 Posted September 23, 2010 Hi If they are open landscapes then they may be blue, people fitted skylight filters (a light pink) to tame Kchromes tendency or sensitivity to UV and ariel perspective. During projection this was less noticeable. You need to minus blue filter. Noel
