Â This is probably the worst and most dangerous thing to do, but I often take the battery out of my cameras and clean them with a rag with the tiniest bit of methylated spirits. I then let the camera sit for a while to make sure that all the alcohol has evaporated, then put the battery back in. So far I haven't fried anything, touch wood.
