Advertisement Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Hi Leica Blog, Take a look here New: Leica D-Lux 5. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
edlaurpic Posted September 23, 2010 Share #2 Posted September 23, 2010 I have really enjoyed using my D-lux 4, partially because of the accessories I've put on it — i.e., ricoh LC1 self-retaining lens cap, metal grip base, 24 finder and Artisan and Artist leather half case—so I was hoping that when I receive my new D-Lux 5, I will be able to use the same accessories. However, my dealer does not believe any of these accessories, except the 24 finder, will work on the D-Lux 5. If that's true, that's a shame, unless some updated accessories will be available that will work on it. Is there another self-retaining cap that will work on it (anybody know of one?). I also assume Artisan and Artist will soon come out with a proper half-case that will work on it with a new grip base that will be available from Leica, also. Any information/insights about this will be appreciated. Ed
edlaurpic Posted September 23, 2010 Share #3 Posted September 23, 2010 I just noticed that among the accessories listed for the D-Lux 5 on the Leica web site, there are two leather cases, but in my opinion neither would work as well, as the Artisan and Artist half case for the D-lux 4. I also see that one can get an extra DLUX 5 battery, which is different from the one used with the DLUX 4. None of these factors would cause me not to get the D-Lux 5, provided that I could just sell my D-lux 4 and acquire similar accessories for the d-Lux 5. If that won't be possible, then I am tempted to just get the Pana LX5 which, in most respects, will do anything the the d-Lux 5 will do. Is that true, by the way?
