andybarton Posted October 18, 2010 Share #63 Posted October 18, 2010 I have read your blog post about these surveys and note your comments about the reaction of the forum, especially the negative and "incomprehensible" responses. I am afraid that, at least to my mind, my initial suspicions have been borne out, and that you have used the good people of this forum for some purpose other than what you stated in your initial posts. You appear to have been more interested in attacking the forum and its members than in your initial queries.
bill Posted October 18, 2010 Share #64 Posted October 18, 2010 +1 Suspicions entirely confirmed; worse than that I now cannot help but suspect that you deliberately provided "incomplete" and hence contentious "surveys" in order to observe and report negatively upon the responses that you provoked by so doing. There is no objectivity here. Furthermore, at no point did you indicate that you were conducting some form of "social experiment". In short you have effectively used the members of this forum and their responses for your own purposes like some form of amateur anthropologist. I find this particularly distasteful and underhanded. Xmas Posted October 18, 2010 Share #65 Posted October 18, 2010 Hi It wont bring back Trix in 220, don't worry I'm not gonna use any Kodak film on principle, ever again. Ilford might like to consider HP5 or D400 in 220, they could sell it by web, rather than stockists, who may be reluctant? It wold be low volume though. Agfa were nasty to run their production until the last moment as I have oodles (some) left still, that remainder style fire sale wont have improved Kodak or Fuji mono sales... mono Posted October 18, 2010 Share #66 Posted October 18, 2010 I did not take part in this so-called "survey", because I thought it to be complete nonsense. And so it really is!

Noel Noel, there is this very interesting analogue photo podcast, regularly updated via iTunes with an interview of the US head of sales and product manager of Kodak Eastman, which shines some interesting light on film production (also regarding less demanded sizes). As I hear that interview, it is quite possible with some demand, to have certain film sizes produced, if order and buying from Kodak is somehow handled in an organized film. Availability of such films basically got killed by the classic sales structure via photo supply shops - there is simply too little and too infrequent demand, to have a production running - in total though, the demand could be quite enough for a batch run by Kodak, if the consumers could be organized into a new sales scheme (little numbers of online retailers for example, who take orders from a higher numbers of consumers). Hi Menos Thanks I understand your point completely, but I was going to try and get Ilford to do that for D400 which I prefer to Trix. This would not have been practical while I could get Trix in shops, but now it is. I'll have to find the e-mail address of the rep. There is no hurry since I got lots of Trix just in case... If Kodak did not make 5222 (doublex) I not be using any Kodak film. I only used Kchrome. Noel
