It's not just a case of posting random photos, There's the challenge for Barnack photos, then there's soon to be a challenge for X1 photos. Where's the challenge for random photos, and where do I get this random camera? is it made by Leitz?
Advertisement Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Hi pop, Take a look here X1 challenge?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
phancj Posted September 8, 2010 Share #22 Posted September 8, 2010 Phancj, For your information I made an offer over a month ago to one of your fellow X1 users to support such an initiative. I have made the same offer to Jan, in a PM. There is no reason why this cannot be run along the same successful lines as the Barnack Challenge, which is now up to round #14. However, you, my friend, are leading me to second thoughts. You seem incapable of doing anything other than what pleases you right here, right now and of being as abrasive, obnoxious and insulting as you can along the way. If this is "Generation X1" I want no part of it. I do not know of your former offer to help, and I would not know of your PM to Jan and its contents, being private. I do not think I started the abrasiveness, if you call it that way. I am just matching my lingo against your condescending tones. If you find me insulting then I suggest you backtrack and examine your own own overbearing tones. I think the feeling is totally mutual. Anyway like I said, I think you are here to make disparaging comments without really helping constructively, so if you really want to contribute, please do, if not then so be it. Frankly I hope I'm wrong. End of the day you are not an X1 user anyway, but seems to judge how we choose to use it ,etc, etc without experience in it. I wouldn't go up to an M user and do likewise would I? But to each his own. I feel now totally, you are not in the X1 generation coz you are not using it, so you do not see yourself what you are doing. But it is clear from my perspective. Do not judge our methods of using our X1 based on your M perspective (which I value if I am going to use an M, honestly). So I repeat myself, do you want to help with the contest?? Stop talking and get things going, I posted an entry, right or wrong its a way to get fellow X1 enthusiasts to join in. Your posts are not helping certainly, for want of a better alternative. I assure everyone who is remotely interested in a contest, either we get the ball rolling, or not. Procrastination means it will never get started. This is an informal forum anyway, as the contest should be.
phancj Posted September 8, 2010 Share #23 Posted September 8, 2010 hey Bill, Come to think of it maybe we got off totally wrong from the get-go. Do you think there is a possibility that we can start afresh (this sounds peculiar now haha) and see if we can see eye to eye on something? :Like do this contest? Do you think you can do that? phancj Posted September 9, 2010 Share #26 Posted September 9, 2010 Hey Bill, You are the consummate gentleman now, just found out! Please understand how the X1 has taken so much flak, not to mention our sometimes different way of shooting that gets slammed so much so that instinctively we may lash out at any that makes a negative comment. It is the classic notion of the straw that broke the camel's back. I am more than happy to work with you, and your suggestions via PM has been invaluable. I appreciate it and thank you. So now I think the show's going nicely on the road! I'm psyched!!
