Mahilameach Posted September 5, 2010 Share #1 Posted September 5, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all, Of course under normal circumstances I would never attempt this but... ...the front of my 35mm Summicron came off the other day - I've been through some rough terrain in a car recently and I'm assuming it's the vibrations - by the front, I mean the filter ring that sits on the aperture ring which also holds the hood. Worried I was going to scratch the glass of my favourite lens. Being that I'm in central Nepal, I was left with no option but to try something, so I took it apart. Having got the back and central elements off there seems no way to remove the aperture ring (some sort of bearing) to then screw the threaded filter ring back on with the three tiny screws. Any ideas (other than wait until you get home) would be gratefully received, exploded diagrams or such like would be perfect! I'm sat in a hotel room watching the WorldService with bits of lens everywhere!

Ecar Posted September 5, 2010 Share #2 Posted September 5, 2010 Put everything back in a sealed bag and send to Solms. Sorry - I know this is not what you want to hear, but even if you could put it all back together, the lens would likely need to be adjusted.
