erl Posted August 29, 2010 Share #85 Â Posted August 29, 2010 Erl I thought that moderators were required to be impartial but it seems whenever a thread goes off and I am involved I am the only one who gets the blame from you.Try not to single me out I hate a lot of attitudes in threads that you would probably deam ok but that doesn't entitle me to demand someone to get chastised just because I don't like it. You accuse me of something and don't say what it is and then opt out by say . That is not what a moderator is required to do threaten and bring his personal bias into the matter or is it? Â Frankly imants I do not answer to you regarding my duties. I just perform them to the best of my ability. If you don't like it, you have a higher call to make. Â I did not single you out, until you poked your head above the parapet. Do not make assumptions about what I do because you will always get it wrong. I won't play your childish games. I accused you only of disregarding my advice. Nothing more. You opted to respond to my 'un-named' caution, thereby declaring your guilt. I gave you the rope. You hung yourself. Â Now don't try and tell me how to be moderator or I will demonstrate how I am, without apology.
Guest stnami Posted August 29, 2010 Share #86 Â Posted August 29, 2010 Do not make assumptions about what I do because you will always get it wrong That's only because you say so and as you are a moderator we cannot argue a point against you. Guest stnami Posted August 29, 2010 Share #88 Â Posted August 29, 2010 It never really made it to the discussion of the lens see the first post by a responder.................
ravinj Posted August 29, 2010 Share #89 Â Posted August 29, 2010 The first offensive comment I see posted in this thread is: Â "phancj evidently read it in a fortune cookie........the armchair executive type not the cheap one from the local tourist shop" Â Clearly the person posting this comment seems to be very arrogant and rude. I found phancj's responses to be measured despite the other person's clearly obnoxious remarks. I would suggest that the other persons comments be ignored and not responded to. Â Now coming back to facts: Â - it does not matter how big Panasonic is or how the fast the new lens is. You can come up with a F0.0 lens for 4/3. Given that at this time 4/3s image quality at base ISO is INFERIOR to the X1, it will not matter how fast the lens is. Â - Regarding phancj's comment about DSLR being popular even with the young crowd : a casual observation of the hordes of tourists in NYC substantiates this. I am surprised to see many young persons, particularly from China and Japan toting DSLRs. Either that or they have small P&S.
Guest stnami Posted August 29, 2010 Share #90  Posted August 29, 2010 Instead of whining and complaining as you have done before just put me on your ignore list and my comments won't come up on your computer. If that is too hard then don't read what I write ......... remember I started this thread  If the following is your mantra why did you respond?????? Follow your own advice..... you have been down this track before. I would suggest that the other persons comments be ignored and not responded to. pop Posted August 29, 2010 Share #91  Posted August 29, 2010 Instead of whining  "I did not behave like a spoiled child, but the other member did it, too". Give it a break.
phancj Posted August 29, 2010 Share #92 Â Posted August 29, 2010 Imants, the only thing that worries me more than you being a figment of my imagination, is that I may be a figment of yours! Â The first offensive comment I see posted in this thread is:Â "phancj evidently read it in a fortune cookie........the armchair executive type not the cheap one from the local tourist shop" Â Clearly the person posting this comment seems to be very arrogant and rude. I found phancj's responses to be measured despite the other person's clearly obnoxious remarks. I would suggest that the other persons comments be ignored and not responded to. I am surprised to see many young persons, particularly from China and Japan toting DSLRs. Either that or they have small P&S. Â Thanks Ravinj. It could well be that the original poster was peeved that I brought up the deficiency of 4/3 compared to say an APS-C when original thread started out on a release of a new lens. But since the title was "new ammunition for 4/3" I would think that the lens together with the camera need to be seen as a collective system. Therefore if the sensor itself or the format may not measure up against other sensors (for example APS-C) then it is an issue to be brought up in a healthy discussion. Â Of course, I would take the high road henceforth and leave the person alone. But I am more than happy that the moderator has quickly grasped the situation and put an end to that person's nonsense. In a forum like Leica there seems to be much more detractors with axe to grind and I tell myself it is probably a big case of sour grapes. Meanwhile, we will continue to have healthy discussion, take more great photos with our latest gear, and have fun doing all that! Â I thank you ravinj again. Guest stnami Posted August 29, 2010 Share #93  Posted August 29, 2010 No Phancie I am still here and unless you put me on your ignore list or not read my posts you will have to suffer according to your own thinking  ........................................any one else who spends more time reading/whining about what I write than what they want put me on your ignore list that is what the list is for..............but it seems you guys just come back for more your own faults for responding to me others know better.
