doublep Posted August 14, 2010 Share #1 Posted August 14, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Out of curiosity, does anyone know what that small knob/button/thing inside the Leica M9 battery compartment is (see attachment) ? There seems to be no explanation in the user manual. Thanks.
Advertisement Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Hi doublep, Take a look here Leica M9 battery compartment knob-thinggy. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
akiralx Posted August 14, 2010 Share #2 Posted August 14, 2010 I assume it 'reads' whether the baseplate is on or not, as there is a corresponding nodule on the baseplate.
Nicoleica Posted August 14, 2010 Share #3 Posted August 14, 2010 That's right Akiralx. That's the little switch that tells the camera that you've put the bottom cover on properly. If it's not depressed by the finger on the bottom cover, you'll see the message 'Attention Bottom cover removed' when you turn the camera on.
