That's one of Anthony Gormley's statues you can see in the sea. Canon 5D, 180mm Elmar

elansprint72 Posted January 5, 2007 Share #2 Posted January 5, 2007 Chav pants with Wellingtonian boots? What was he thinking of? Is that Castle Barton in the distance? Pete.

stunsworth Posted January 5, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted January 5, 2007 Pete, I do believe Lord Barton of Barton was sat in the east wing watching my activities through his latest purchase of powerful Leica binoculars. The rare Panda skinned version of course. Rolo, same puddle, different town :-). One of the projects that's been in the back of my mind is to photograph for a few years is declining British seaside resorts out of season . Nice shot of Blackpool and the pier by the way. thanks for looking.
Rolo Posted January 5, 2007 Share #5 Posted January 5, 2007 One of the projects that's been in the back of my mind is to photograph for a few years is declining British seaside resorts out of season . Me too, only I was to focus on NW coast for convenience, but with no particular focus on out-of-season. I started up north and didn't get very far with it. Couple of nice shots and then took my eye off the ball. Have you made a start Steve ?
stunsworth Posted January 5, 2007 Author Share #6 Posted January 5, 2007 Not as far as I hoped. I've got some shots of Rhyl, New Brighton and Bridlington that I'm pleased with, but there's a lot more to do. Morcambe's always good for a bit of faded glory - not to mention North Wales. That's funny - the last line of your post wasn't showing. Oh .... so you've only got 1,000,017 left to do then. I expected you to be nearly finished. :-) I've got one of the towns you've just mentioned that I'll post for you personally. Won't mention the name until matey asks where it is. stunsworth Posted January 5, 2007 Author Share #8 Posted January 5, 2007 As I said, it's one of those projects that "I really must start soon", so what I have is a pretty random collection of places turning to dust ;-) At one point I was thinking of restricting it to piers, but I thought that might be a little limiting. Though now I think about it there might be something in that.
