black and white filters on 21/2.8

I have a 21 Elmarit ASPH and I was wondering what people do about filters on it for black-and-white photography. I have a 55mm B+W Yellow 8 filter and if I put it on the lens, I can't get the hood on over it. I have a Leica E55 UVa filter which I use for general protection/UV blockage and that fits fine under the hood, but the B+W filter doesn't.

 

Is there another brand that people use with that lens?
