New X1 owner needs wrist strap

I like the slender ones that have a cinch on them to tighten it up on your wrist... Canon P&S cameras come with them.

I don't have it yet, but there are a few like this you can order from Adorama... from between $4 and $8 you can afford to check out a couple of them. I ordered the black Olympus ones. Also B&H has some that look pretty decent from OpTech for $10

we're talking about a wrist-wrap here.... A&A are 60$ ... you must be kidding!

I have 3 Canon straps, the light silvery grey ones, they fit, the're comfortable and they do the job that they are meant to do really very very well ... surprisingly though I bought them $3,99 each ....

Want to live up to the "scene" well my half brother id generally seen as a "shady" sort of character, he'se nice, I like him although he is quite simple, some say that he exploits women ...hmmmm Anyway he uses Leicas and buys the most expensive attributes he can find for them, hand braided wrist-wraps etc. etc. each and everyone at least $100.... he also wears multiple gold rolex's drive porsches, MB 4 wheel drives and has a Tesla... he still hasn't quite achieved table manners though and wears very expensive clothes as if impersonating a commercial hot air ballon ....

Come off this exclusive Leica shit and invest in things that will improve the image, and not the "style" or "impression" for are thats worth nothing at all ... my eloquent and fashionable friends.... :-)

You know if you do have the argument that moneys a plenty, go for the cheap wraps anyway and give to charity.... and yes I do that! (€11.598 over 2009) and just think of the fashionable leica attributes that I would of been able to buy.... Tax deductible yes that too but still nets up to 6.5 grand!)

Some of those wrist straps are large enough that they fall off of the wrist when you have the camera in hand, which eliminates your protection. I tried several, and finally went with a strap that came with a Panasonic pocket camera.

You may laugh, but I'm using a Nintendo Wii strap. It will DEFINITELY take the weight, it's white and doesn't look too out of place, but the thing is, it has the slider to actually tighten it around the wrist.. having a big open loop doesn't help me much if I can't tighten it down.

Like I said, you may laugh but function over form when it comes to not dropping a $2k camera.

What a great idea, they are better than the simple ordinary ones .... I'm using my Nintendo one too now....

That's pretty ingenious.

It might be the small Nokia screen I'm using but I think there are some pretty reproachful words up this thread. About living up to the scene, metaphores about commercial hot air balloons, coming off expensive Leica shit, etc...

But I guess all this can be put under 'offering thoughts' to. ;-)
