J. Cunha Ramos Posted July 21, 2010 Share #1 Posted July 21, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Has anyone tried this color reversal film? I have ordered from Macodirect a pack of 20 Rollei colour reversal (Agfa Aviphot Chrome 200 PE1), considering that it should performe similarly with the late Agfa RSX. What I got in my Leica (with a standard UVA filter) had an intense orange-green cast, resulting in a low quality final result (I had two Rollei films developed in E6 at the same time with 1 CT Precisa, 1 Fuji Astia, 1 Fuji Provia and 1 Fuji Velvia, in an evaluation assay, and all the others did perform normally). Digitalyzed in Nikon CoolScan 5000 they behave like vintage fainted slides that can be minimally restored by the ROC filter. Does anyone have any experience with this film? Advertisement Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 Hi J. Cunha Ramos, Take a look here Rollei Digibase CR200 - is this a bad slide film?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Gift Posted July 22, 2010 Share #2 Posted July 22, 2010 It's not top of the chart slide nowadays, but it performs quiet well. A little grainy and little warm color (very often on Agfa films), but really usefull for snapshots. I developed with Kodak E6 Kit and everything is allright. And really a bargain if you purchase it in 30,5 meters bulk roll at macodirect. Cheers.
J. Cunha Ramos Posted August 17, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted August 17, 2010 Many thanks for your oppinion. I have tried it again, with my own processing in Tetenal E6 3 baths. I tried it together with a Agfa CT Precisa, just to check any special deviation. And, after all, I must agree with you. Rollei CR200 does have a warmer tone, that I don´t appreciate very much and which is not common even in other Agfa (CT Precisa) films. When compared with Velvia or Provia it can even be a bit shocking, and perhaps this did justify my previous discomfort. Also, there are not many examples on the web, and a significant number of those are cross processed in C41, with its characteristic color cast. Just have a look at the attached Provia 100, Velvia 100 and Rollei CR200 example. All with the 50mm summicron-M (two M6 and 1 M4-2). Regards and thanks Welcome, dear visitor!
