phancj Posted November 17, 2010 Share #41 Â Posted November 17, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Cj, Â I handheld sharp shots at 1/15 today (iirc) with the m9, maybe I need to switch to the vf so I have better stability. The good old string tripod helps too. Â I'll check those m9 shots tomorrow. Â Depending on focal lens for me anything less than 1/60 is touch and go, maybe some on some off, best to fire a few more shots just in case.... Â I like 1/60 coz I get one shot one kill almost always:D Â And thats for ANY camera without stabilization...at least for me!

Paolo.Battista Posted November 17, 2010 Share #42 Â Posted November 17, 2010 Well, the minimun shutter speed that you can use for a handheld shot depends mainly but the camera/lens combination. Â With Nikon D2x and a non stabilized lens in the range of 50-70 mm, you can have shaky shots even with 1/60 if you're not paying the maximum attention. But that is the price to pay for an optical viewfinder pro DSLR that's capable of shooting many frames per second. More, if you shoot wide with it and look at the photos at 100% magnification on your monitor, you will see a lot of difference when shooting hand held or on a tripod even with faster shutter speeds (like 1/250). If you want the panaroma to be bitingly sharp, you NEED the tripod with it. Â On the other side, with my Digilux 2 I had taken perfect shots even at 1/6 - 1/10 of shutter speed. It's internal operation is so quiet that I surprised myself in being able to take these handheld shots. Paying a minimum of attention, with shutter speed of 1/15 the shots are almost always perfect. Â As far as the X1 of Indina is regarded, it looks like that lady needs a comfortable week in the Solms' Wellness Estate

Then I'll know if 1/6 is possible, though I doubt all shots will be sharply focused.
