Well, sub groups for specific lenses in the 'people' group for example.

I see that would be tricky.

Recently i wanted to view large size photo's taken with the 50 Lux A. Flickr isn't so good i find. Perhaps instead of groups under lens type headings, people could be encouraged to attach a tag to any photo posted so that it is easy to do a lens search?

When you consider how many different lenses there are, each photo sub-section might have say 50 further subsections. And then, people would want to see ONLY shots with a Summaron f3.5, on an M8, which would require subsections for every camera choice too. Maybe 500+ sub-sections?

 

The tag thing has been in existence since the start of this forum iteration, but very few people use it. In fact, very few people actually declare the equipment they use at all. Which is a real shame.

Sub-sections for the photo groups wouldn't make sense indeed ... but a section for lens discussions would. We have groups for almost anything—except lenses. I am not a fan of a forum separation into too many groups and sub-groups ... but if there a re groups to begin with then there should be one for lenses, too.

 

Another suggestion applies to the "Neue Beiträge/Recent posts" function: This should be separated into two—one for the photo groups (with a thumbnail overview of the latest, say, 30 images, regardless of the sub-group they've been posted to), and one for the non-photo discussion groups.
