I agree, until I printed out a few pictures (greyscale through LR) with my HP B9185 printer on Harman matte FB paper with the correct ICC profiles installed I was not sure about the amazing IQ. This is the only way to judge a camera, rather than with a PC screen. The last picture I printed, framed and under glass, I was asked if it was in fact a 35mm film developed in the old fashion way!

This seems to the smartest approach yet in my experience.

If you can tell the difference between two cameras from posted Web images, then it is purely on color shift alone. IMO, detail and shadow highlight even at pixel peeping levels online is of limited merit in the real world of photog, especially RAW DNG images and sites that limit your posting under certain resolution/megs.

Most browsers also cannot render Adobe RGB images truly, only SRGB if you are lucky, and each browser (FF, IE, Safari, etc.) render slightly different to the end user is my understanding.

IM (humble) O, Sean Reid's site is the is only that comes close in rendering chromo ab and shift differences on the Web. He is a great source of information, and his methodical and detailed approach are to be commended.

This is only from my experience. I know I am off topic here, and yes, my X1 has the battery door bulge, and it should have been assembled better and it pisses me off. If they do release an X2 shortly I want my money back!! (suffering from M8.2 syndrome ;)

BTW the battery door can be fixed in 2 minutes...

I spotted Lady Gaga in NYC with a diamond encrusted, gold-plated X1 taking photos of man made waterfalls.

Did you go blind or lose your lunch first?

@michael - I do think there are differences to be seen without printing - just not as noticeable.

Scared I will bust the thing (?)

Yep, I was too. For weeks. But it's really simple and works perfect. :)

Carefully push a small 'V dent' in the metal bracket as pictured in the thread and you're done. In 1 or 2 steps until it's flush with the body.
