ptarmigan Posted July 5, 2010 Share #1 Posted July 5, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Anyone help here? I have installed ACR 5.7 beta. I thought I had installed 5.7 'GA' but it seems not. Anyway, using the adobe Auto Updater, the install after download is lightening quick, I was suspicious! and sure enough opening either CS4 or Bridge confirms that its still Beta installed. SO I download the update manually but when I run the installed it tells me I have 5.7 installed. Any suggestions? Every time I open ACR it warms me that I am running beta software. Installing ACR 5.7 seems impossible!
Advertisement Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Hi ptarmigan, Take a look here Snow Leopard, CS4 and ACR 5.7. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
archi4 Posted July 5, 2010 Share #2 Posted July 5, 2010 Ian, I had the same problem with CS5. The updater kept refusing to install the first updates that were available. Uninstalling and reinstalling did not help.Neither did installing Photoshop in another account. Adobe telephone support here in Holland at first had no other suggestions so I took the drastic step of removing absolutely all files associated with Adobe in the entire computer except for Lightroom settings, templates, catalogs and profiles and then reinstalling.Photoshop and Lightroom. That worked. A week later the support technician called me and said he had submitted the problem further up and I only would have had to remove one folder; the Adobe folder at the top of the applications (which contains help, patch and flash player) and then reinstall Photoshop. I didn't have to try this, so I don't know what disasters this could cause. I noted this in my notebook for future reference but I would if confronted with the same problem move that Adobe folder to the desktop uninstall and reinstall Photoshop. I would not definitely delete that folder! For what this too long post is worth! Maurice
ptarmigan Posted July 12, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted July 12, 2010 Thanks Maurice. In the end I installed CS4 and re-snstalled it and that cured this problem, however I have another update error now when downloading and installing Flashlight 3.1! Ah well, an upgrade to CS5 is looming so hopefully that will banish these Snow Leopard (I suspect) related bug!!
