V-lux 1, D-lux 4, Reflex E300

I have Leicas V-lux 1 and D-Lux 4 and one Reflex Olympus E-300 with aim 14-45 (28-90mm.).

I believe that with the Leicas, I obtain better photos that with the Reflex olympus.

The friends, say to me that it is not possible and that the motive is for that I do not use well the Reflex.

I come to your experience in order that me saqueis of doubt.

There are many photos of good quality.

So good as the seizures with reflex.

It depends what you mean by better photos - technically, or artistically?

 

I have the D-lux 4, and an Olympus DSLR. The Olympus has, of course, a larger sensor than the D-lux 4, but I believe there has been some criticism of the Olympus bundled kit lenses. But the main difference I find is that the auto white balance of the D-lux 4 is better than that of the Olympus. I also find that I generally get far more relaxed portraits with the D-lux 4 because no-one takes such a small camera seriously!

 

Ultimately, I suspect you'll always take better photos with the camera you like best.

 

Other forum members may have a much better technical appraisal than mine, of course...

Hi Dopaco,

 

Sorry I missed this post the first time around. A couple of comments from me.

 

1. The E-300 is hardly state of the art. It has been superceded at least twice.

2. I agree with Sam about the Olympus (indeed almost any) kit lenses. I use the pro-spec Olympus lenses on an E-520 and really have nothing to complain about.

3. The D-Lux 4 is at the top end of it's class, the E-300 near the bottom. The D-Lux 4 does what it does very well, the E-300 by comparison is alright.

4. Again, I agree with Sam - having confidence in your kit, and using it to the best of your ability will take you further than using it to the best of its ability.
