doubice Posted June 24, 2010 Share #2 Posted June 24, 2010 Hello Jan, Not an M9 but an M8 - I've been using the 28mm Biogon for close to three years now and am very happy with it. Not overly contrasty, with excellent sharpnes. Here is a sample, taken in 2007; I hope the re-sizing does harm it too much...... Best, Jan (the other one) Welcome, dear visitor! leicanut2 Posted June 24, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted June 24, 2010 Thank you very nice. I sold my 35 lux because I wanted something a bit wider but really don't want to spend allot for a lens I will only use a few times a year, and don't want to lug around a viewfinder so a 28mm fits the bill. Thank you again for the sample pic, again very nice. Jan
thompsonkirk Posted June 25, 2010 Share #4 Posted June 25, 2010 I use a 28 Zeiss on the M8 that I always carry with me, & I like it better than the Elmarit that I previously owned because it's a little less contrasty. But for my M9 & when I'm shooting intentionally or 'seriously,' I use a 28 Summicron. It's less contrasty than the Zeiss, & colors seem more richly modulated –– subtler tones. Opinions naturally differ, & Jan's illustration is what I think of as too contrasty, too saturated, & over-sharpened, all together reducing the appearance of depth in the image. Below is a 28 Biogon M8 image in sunlight with gentler post-processing, aiming less for brightness & more for glow. Kirk PS, it's a black car reflecting a bright blue sky. Welcome, dear visitor!
