ho_co Posted June 23, 2010 Share #1 Posted June 23, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) After running CornerFix 1.3.0.4 on a batch of M8 files on a network drive under OS X 10.5.8, I can't use the Finder to open the folder containing the originals and reworked files. When I try to open that folder with the Finder, there's first a delay of a couple seconds; then all open Finder windows disappear, the screen goes blank for an instant, and the desktop reappears. The same thing happens also under an earlier version of OS X on a G4. Disk Utility doesn't see the drive, possibly because it's networked. The folder seems to open properly in Bridge CS4, ver 3.0.0.464, which seems to display all files just fine. Possibly relevant: At some point with an earlier version of Cornerfix, I made some profiles which I now can't find. The profile I used was apparently one that Sandy supplied with an earlier version of CornerFix. Any suggestions appreciated.

sandymc Posted June 23, 2010 Share #2 Posted June 23, 2010 Howard, Not an issue that's come up with CornerFix before - probably, it's not a CornerFix problem. Usually when Finder does that that, it's one of (a) the disk has errors or ( the various hidden files that Finder uses to remember how the file was displayed, etc have become corrupt. I'd suggest copying the files in that directory to another directory, then deleting the original directory. Regards, Sandy
ho_co Posted June 24, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted June 24, 2010 Many thanks, Sandy! I knew what I was saying didn't make sense from the software side. I hadn't seen this kind of problem with Finder before and am glad for the heads-up!
