Shade Posted June 28, 2010 Share #41 Posted June 28, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I would think its a processing glitch or a write error. Either one of those, if its the sensor then the problem should be consistent and recurring..

Either one of those, if its the sensor then the problem should be consistent and recurring.. Hi shade, this could also be possible and my dealer has thought about this. This is the first time the problem has occurred and I have stop using this card and camera. Know I will have to wait and see what kind of repair Leica will make. Thank you for your comment warm regards david
ggits Posted June 28, 2010 Share #43 Posted June 28, 2010 Its happen "similar" -- at least for me a couple of time. When I shot just when the camera goes to sleep - its like slow reaction on the push. Here I have seen "funny" picture caused to whats look like a "non controlled wake-up" of the camera uP. Thats my guess.
glenerrolrd Posted June 29, 2010 Share #44 Posted June 29, 2010 Who said anything about waiting. This happened in march and I have used the camera intensively since then.By the way: The card used is also "highly recommended by Leica for the M9"! Erik try reading your own post before you give me a hard time. You said "wait for the software" or "send the camera to Leica" . I suggested avoiding both by changing to the slower but "maybe more reliable cards" ....but you already knew this didn t you. There were posts about the cards as well. If you did your homework you would find a number of posts regarding battery issues resulting in incomplete writes and corrupt cards but you know thats not what caused your problem? I have had this problem and always using a fresh battery and a card formated in my M9s /DMR pretty much clears it up..although I do sometimes get one frame like this in the DMR (the first frame). Good luck .

eritho Posted July 12, 2010 Share #46 Posted July 12, 2010 Is this problem with the SD-cards also known to happen to the M8? I'm asking since some thinks customers service has mixed this up and advices the new firmware coming for the M8. Customer service clearly stated the problem with the comparability of the different SD-cards in the M9 should be solved with the new firmware first advised to be available in a "few days" and later , as nothing happened, to last Friday! Alberti Posted July 20, 2010 Share #47 Posted July 20, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Its the battery. If the battery runs down to certain point or you have a faulty connection you can get an incomplete write to the card. Have had this exact problem with the DMR and the M8.2 ..you can look at the data on the card and see the issue. I had the same (M8) once or twice a long time ago on a last shot on a battery, while I used in-camera JPEG (which takes longer). Just reformatted the card, and reused it. Interestingly I once ran a recovery program (from Sandisk) on a 4GB card, and more files like this showed up than i had seen. This told me there sometimes were more errors than I would normally notice. Now I never run dead on a battery anymore. I recharge before the battery goes dead. albert
John Bohn Posted July 23, 2010 Share #48 Posted July 23, 2010 I saw a similar issue with one of my M8 bodies. My problem was a pink tone across the entire image. The camera was sent to Leica NJ for repair, I never saw the problem again. FYI, I used the same SD card in several M8s and never had a replication of the pink rendering. Warm regards David So according to this answer from Leica in another thread you now has a camera with an unofficial firmware with a "grave mistake"! Have you recognised the "grave mistake" or have you seen any improvements in 1.134 other than the mentioned? Will it now take SD cards which was rejected before? Unfortunately we had to stop for the last planned release of the new firmware, because our technicians have noticed a grave mistake. Please look in the next few days on our website www.leica-camera.com according to the new firmware, it should appear in the upcoming days, really! Thank you for your understanding.
