Lightroom 3 or Aperture?

I've changed my mind.

Since Lightroom 3 is free to those who buy an M9. Get Lightroom.

Lightroom is free.

this from a Leica webbpage.

Leica Camera AG - Photography - M9

WORKFLOW

Included with the LEICA M9, is a license for Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, a professional digital workflow solution available for both Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows operating systems.

The software is a free download for LEICA M9 customers, to guarantee that the most current version is always available.

Purchased an M9 a few weeks ago & currently use iphoto - I want/need something better - thoughts?

Well, light room comes fro with an M9 and that being the case, there's certainly no reason to put down good money for Aperture. Both are very good and it boils down to personal preference. I like Lightroom's file management a lot better.

Of course. But may be worthwhile to wait for LR3 from Leica. You may want the trial version from Adobe directly first.

In my other post, I mentioned that Aperture does not work for me and I had just migrated to LR. It could be only in my circumstances or my installation, since I have not found others mentioned about how slow Aperture is. If someone would like to share their experience (speed) of A3, I would much appreciate it.

Regards.

I have Aperture on my office computer (don't use it that much for photography but I wanted to try it out). I transferred and imported almost all my pictures but speed was not really a problem I noticed. I just liked the Lightroom paradigm better and decided to stay with it.

Not at this point in time it isn't. That may change for new purchasers, but I'd be surprised if everyone who has already registered their M9 was offered a free upgrade.
