X1 and PocketWizard + Canon 580EX

This is my first Leica and I've yet to try the hot shoe with any external flashes. I've got a bunch of Canon equipment.

 

Has anyone successfully fired a remote Canon 580EX with a PocketWizard? I don't see why this wouldn't work because everything will be in manual and we don't need any metering. If not, what wireless solutions have you found for the X1?

Yes it would work 100%, just like any flash system. I used the same combo but using a profoto light and it works nicely. The only issue is whether the X1 works properly with the PW and it does.

Yes it's work. I shoot a lot with sb900 and 580ex... +pocket wizard and X1.

Thanks again. I actually tried it out this weekend and it worked very well. The X1 with some hotshoe flashes makes for an amazingly light kit! My poor DSLR is crying.
