wparsonsgisnet Posted June 10, 2010 Share #2 Posted June 10, 2010 Thanks, Ian. I d/l-d and installed 5.1.2-Pro. I have had to "import" the dng's from the existing location. I guess the new software acquisition sees the files diffferently. Scared me at first, of couirse. [ ... a little bit later ... ] It's working very nicely. It found out that the pic is an M9 image and is dealing with it accordingly. I'll try printing something tonite.

Alberti Posted June 11, 2010 Share #6 Posted June 11, 2010 I bought the upgrade to 5.1.2 offered in this week's marketing campaign of Phase One. The C1 I used up till now was V 4.3. The new V 5.1.2 works faster on my 25" iMac, has not crashed with my libraries of 500-700 images per directory. And I have the impression the pictures look better on screen. I had to tell where the images were (in the C1 Library) but all the 'development settings' I had made and changes I had are there. So the upgrade is perfect. Phase One sends a new License Key. Your old ones won't work. Well recommended. For the past month I have been looking critically at Aperture, Lightroom & the older C1 V 4.3, and while I liked the color and BW handling of Lightroom, I found severe cases of moiré - pictures with houses with shingles on the roof (I used the LR 3 beta version ); C1 absolutely is needed. Money well spent. alberti
wparsonsgisnet Posted June 11, 2010 Share #7 Posted June 11, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I like C1, too. I converted this year to get the color management stuff, which is great. There are several pro's here who use it and recommend it, and I moved to the Pro version based on that as much as the color mgt stuff.
