lambroving Posted July 16, 2006 Author Share #21 Posted July 16, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Gents, Just booked the table but had to book for 8 PM (20:00). They have two seatings, 6 PM & 8 PM, and I figured 6 PM was a bit early for anyone who has to work that day.
Advertisement Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 Hi lambroving, Take a look here London - 31. 7. 06 - Informal Dinner. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
dhsimmonds Posted July 16, 2006 Share #22 Posted July 16, 2006 William Would you have room on the table for one cider drinking, new boy to this Forum (but ancient in years, young at heart) please? "Strongbow" will be just fine and at 5.3% it's not TOO strong William! Though I shall be letting the train take the strain from Winchester to Waterloo. Many thanks Dave Simmonds
Simon Larbalestier Posted July 17, 2006 Share #23 Posted July 17, 2006 Dear William, James, Andy, Ade, Adrian and Dave Sadly it looks like I won't be able to make the dinner as the way things are at the moment I'll still be in Bangkok. I'm going to have to change my flight ticket today- I am supposed to fly back to the UK on the 18th but I've not finished my work here due to some frustrating complications. Hopefully there will be another time..... Simon
lambroving Posted July 17, 2006 Author Share #24 Posted July 17, 2006 Simon, Sorry to miss you as I was hoping to see one of your Lith prints. Such is life, but I'm afraid I don't get around much unless I manage one of these Morgan weeks every so often. You never know. Land Rover used to send me over almost annually, but since Ford are largely clueless about brand culture, any future visits I make to the U.K. are at my expense... Dave, You have your spot and I doubt you can be much more ancient than I. Can't believe you'd come all the way up from Winchester for our little gathering, but James may be able to pull off something far grander later in the year. Is it a long train ride? Haven't been to Winchester in decades, but was at Somerley in the New Forest in 2002. Currently Ron is trying to work out a way to drop by for a drink and a quick dinner. We'll see. Any more takers from London?
dhsimmonds Posted July 17, 2006 Share #25 Posted July 17, 2006 William Thanks for my spot and look forward to meeting you and the other Leicaphiles. BTW Winchester is just over an hour by fast train to Waterloo, but I live in Romsey 20 minutes by car further west.. A little snap attached to remind you of Winchester..........capital of England long before London! FZ20 with vario Elmarit on the end of it's zoom! Cheers Dave Welcome, dear visitor!
