Advertisement Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 Hi piersgibbon, Take a look here 3 little holes next to the shutter speed dial on the top. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
adan Posted May 31, 2010 Share #2 Â Posted May 31, 2010 Close - they are the speaker outlet for the beeps and simulated electronic shutter sounds. If video is ever added, the mike will probably be similar holes on the front somewhere.

Talking of video...I read one review online that said video can be turned on via the menu..er no, I don't think so  I use the soft shutter sound only. Video would be problematic with the X1 because of the generally slow performance of the camera (high demand due to large sensor, but slow performance due to small size and lack of "muscle" that a large camera can provide). Of course they could compromise and add low-quality video, but I don't see anyone asking for that.
NZDavid Posted May 31, 2010 Share #5 Â Posted May 31, 2010 Don't need video, don't need beeps. Hope water or dirt doesn't get in.

They left it out because it's a traditionalists camera, simplistic in form and function.
tyler Posted June 1, 2010 Share #7 Â Posted June 1, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Well... Â For a long time I thought there was a lightening bolt on the aperture dial--looking closely one day I discovered it was a "4"..... Â Getting older--don't see as well.
