Paolo.Battista Posted May 31, 2010 Share #3 Posted May 31, 2010 You can find adapters even from Coma. Just search on Google "Adriano Lolli Coma" and you will find them. I'm using adapters from Coma in order to adapt Nikon, Leitz and Zeiss (Contax/Yashica mount) to 4/3, and I find their quality quite good. Maybe not up to the Novoflex one (due to the price), but I didn't tried the Novoflexs. Pay attention to the wide angle lenses, I found that the Elmarit-R 19/f:2,8 (latest version) doesn't fit in the 4/3 adapter due to different mechanical coupling (in fact the Leica original adapter was sold for lenses starting from 30 mm). Best regards. Paolo

Paolo.Battista Posted May 31, 2010 Share #5 Posted May 31, 2010 No, what I was saying is that I have never tried a Novoflex adapter. I used some chip confirm adapters from other producers, but I was really not satisfied by the mechanical quality of them. After that, I tried the Coma ones, and I find their mechanical quality quite good for the price. Up to now I have bought from them two Leica R adapters, one Nikon and one Contax/Yashica, and all of them work well. Since the Novoflex one is quite more expensive, I think that maybe it can still improve the quality that I found on the Comas adapter. But, again, I have to say that I haven't found any particular problem with the Coma's adapters, so I'm not going to try the Novoflex ones. The R lenses that I found to work properly with Coma 4/3 adapters are: 35 f:2 Summicron 35 f:2.8 Elmarit 50 f:2 Summicron 60 f:2.8 MACRO-Elmarit 80 f:1.4 Summilux 100 f:2.8 APO-Macro-Elmarit 135 f:2.8 Elmarit 180 f:3.4 APO-Telyt 250 f:4 Telyt (last versione, with closer focusing capabilities) 280 f:2.8 APO-Telyt (with or without the APO 1.4x Converter) 560 f:6.8 Telyt Other lenses that works with Digilux 3 and the appropriate Coma 4/3 adapter: Nikkor AI 28 f:2.8 Nikkor AIs 50 f:1,2 NIkkor AI 135 f:2.8 Nikkor AI 200 f:4 Zeiss Contax Planar 50 f:1,4 Zeiss Contax Distagon 28 f:2.8 NOTE: The Elmarit-R 19 f:2.8 is NOT compatible with the above Leica R to 4/3 adapter. One of the mounting brackets is too long to fit in the Coma adapter. Hope it helps. Best regards. Paolo
Ian Fozzard Posted June 1, 2010 Share #6 Posted June 1, 2010 Anyone know where I can still buy the Digi3 4/3 to R adapter? I wish I didn't need the stupid thing I'd rather just mount the blasted lens and deal with it Just a short and rather late note: - I have tried aftermarket (non-Leica) 4/3 adapters and found they are not very well made (too loose on the bayonet), so I went for the genuine Leica one and it works fine. Try Ffordes if you are in the UK, they sometimes have used ones available . Ian F.
