My X1 is humping and bumbing while in the menu

I think so, it's adjusting to the light.. the aperture opens and closes. Amy posted something about this a few days ago, and it seems consistent with my experience today.

Congrats on your new x1!

I have this problem too. It has nothing to do with the aperture changing. It's more like the selector ring has a problem. When inside the menus the selection can move up and down randomly. And in picture preview mode there can be uncontrolled zooming in and out. The camera is registering clicks from the selector ring even if it's not moving.

  • 4 weeks later...

Now luckily for me this problem seems to have disappeared completely. Maybe the selector ring needed to be dialed in during some months of use. I hope the problem doesn't come back as it was very annoying.

I also have this intermittent problem. The buttons stick and the menu wheel randomly jitters between selections. Zooming in and out is almost impossible.

After 2 weeks in Tokyo (30 degrees), I'm sure it is a thermal issue - towards the end of the day (having left camera on for c. 6 hours + lots of acctuations) the problem is appaling.

Turn the camera off and let it cool down overnight, and the problem is gone.

Got my X1 today. Looks godd and I'm ready to shoot.

But, when I'm in the menu to change settings, it suddenly bumps up and down.

Is this normal

the menu ring on the back of camera must stay in click position, if the ring in half way click the problem will start jumping around... try to one full click and do it very firm. try it. :o
