Advertisement Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 Hi Ramses, Take a look here My X1 is humping and bumbing while in the menu. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
h00ligan Posted May 28, 2010 Share #2 Posted May 28, 2010 I think so, it's adjusting to the light.. the aperture opens and closes. Amy posted something about this a few days ago, and it seems consistent with my experience today. Congrats on your new x1!
tommm Posted May 28, 2010 Share #3 Posted May 28, 2010 Why would it be related to aperture changes? Mine does this too.Annoying. Rule #1. Don't be annoying.
h00ligan Posted May 28, 2010 Share #4 Posted May 28, 2010 To get a correct exposure on the lcd according to a poster in this other thread.
thomsva Posted May 29, 2010 Share #5 Posted May 29, 2010 I have this problem too. It has nothing to do with the aperture changing. It's more like the selector ring has a problem. When inside the menus the selection can move up and down randomly. And in picture preview mode there can be uncontrolled zooming in and out. The camera is registering clicks from the selector ring even if it's not moving.
bad robot Posted May 29, 2010 Share #6 Posted May 29, 2010 Sounds like a problem. My X1 does not do that.
marban Posted May 30, 2010 Share #7 Posted May 30, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) had the same problem for a few seconds after the very first use but it never appeared again (selection cursor jumping up and down between the options). mario1 Posted May 30, 2010 Share #8 Posted May 30, 2010 mine too. VERY annoying!
thomsva Posted June 23, 2010 Share #9 Posted June 23, 2010 Now luckily for me this problem seems to have disappeared completely. Maybe the selector ring needed to be dialed in during some months of use. I hope the problem doesn't come back as it was very annoying.
ck1 Posted June 26, 2010 Share #10 Posted June 26, 2010 I also have this intermittent problem. The buttons stick and the menu wheel randomly jitters between selections. Zooming in and out is almost impossible. After 2 weeks in Tokyo (30 degrees), I'm sure it is a thermal issue - towards the end of the day (having left camera on for c. 6 hours + lots of acctuations) the problem is appaling. Turn the camera off and let it cool down overnight, and the problem is gone.
harryliem Posted June 26, 2010 Share #11 Posted June 26, 2010 Got my X1 today. Looks godd and I'm ready to shoot. But, when I'm in the menu to change settings, it suddenly bumps up and down. Is this normal the menu ring on the back of camera must stay in click position, if the ring in half way click the problem will start jumping around... try to one full click and do it very firm. try it.
