msbel Posted May 28, 2010 Share #1 Â Posted May 28, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Well, I sent my beloved X1 to Leica NJ to get the battery door fix and check the release for something. Though the battery cover issue is a minor one, thought I would get in fixed up for the long term. Plus a buddy of mine mentioned for that kind of cash outlay, get it fixed. Â I have really come to appreciate the X1. I have had it with me everyday, and stepped up my shooting on a more regular basis as a result. Â How has the X1 changed your shooting if at all? kathy h Posted May 29, 2010 Share #3 Â Posted May 29, 2010 I know what you mean. I sent mine off two days ago to get the skin repaired. Of course today I got a notice from my dealer saying my veiwfinder and handgrip have arrived. If only I had a camera to put them on.
Guest Chris M Posted May 29, 2010 Share #4 Â Posted May 29, 2010 I know what you mean. I sent mine off two days ago to get the skin repaired. Of course today I got a notice from my dealer saying my veiwfinder and handgrip have arrived. If only I had a camera to put them on. Â Â I received my X1 on monday and did a full inspection. I could not find any thing wrong with it, in fact this second build of X1's must have gotten the ill fated problems solved. The skin is tight and recessed in all corners, and the battery door seems fine, no bulge or looseness. I hope it stays that way! Â chris m.
Guest badbob Posted May 29, 2010 Share #5 Â Posted May 29, 2010 How has the X1 changed your shooting if at all? Â It sure changed mine. I take time now to get better shots, and spend more time and put more attention into doing better post processing.
h00ligan Posted May 29, 2010 Share #6 Â Posted May 29, 2010 That's interesting..I would say I am more considered in post, but based on, Yes one day only, I feel like I am spending less time in post...that said, I've taken 100 shots just to get the feel...the first thing I noticed is, I can see the arizona skies..no filters, no recovery...could be a fluke with less haze today but for once I am being an optimist. Â I'm actually planning on shooting some low light in a few, we will see if that continues. That said, I am sure many are 'stepping down' to the x1 but its clearly the cleanest lens/cam I have bought yet. So for me a step up (I do have a decent canon zoom arriving early next week...) ocho Posted May 29, 2010 Share #10 Â Posted May 29, 2010 I've had my X1 in the UK for about 3 weeks now. I notice about 1mm bulge on the battery door on one side. Is this what everyone is talking about or is it much worse in others?

msbel Posted May 30, 2010 Author Share #12 Â Posted May 30, 2010 The battery door bulge is minor, just wanted to get it squared away in case it gets worse. Was a toss-up really..... wish I had not sent it in at all now
