Annibale G. Posted May 14, 2010 Share #1 Posted May 14, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, I've got a stainless stell tank for 8 reels. Showing it to my professional printer he's sad that Paterson ones are better for rotation. Usually with the other one same steel I used to turn upside down the tank 4 time every minute, he said the paterson have a their own system that allows not to invert the tank, that system is save from air bubbles and oxidation caused from invert upside down the tank. What do you think? I can still change this one back. What do you suggest me to do? Thanks

Xmas Posted May 14, 2010 Share #2 Posted May 14, 2010 Hi Some people have great trouble loading film into the Patterson spirals, and need to use 3rd party spirals or stainless spirals. If you drop a Patterson 8x tank, when it is full of liquid it is likely to be damaged, e.g. inversion and emptying, needs to be done with caution. I don't think this answers your question exactly. If you are to use the tank is its your choice. Noel
Annibale G. Posted May 15, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted May 15, 2010 It's not about loding the film into the spirals. It's just about agitation. As I said usually with the other one same steel I used to turn upside down the tank 4 time every minute, he said the paterson have a their own system that allows not to invert the tank, that system is save from air bubbles and oxidation caused from invert upside down the tank. What do you think? I can still change this one back. What do you suggest me to do? Thanks
Xmas Posted May 15, 2010 Share #4 Posted May 15, 2010 Sorry to appear equivocal. I use Patterson singles and multiples, some times I invert some times I use the twist rod, mainly I stand, never noticed any difference. If you are sure you can load the tank I'd go for the cheaper. Annibale G. Posted May 15, 2010 Author Share #5 Posted May 15, 2010 Again, it's not a matter about how much cost one or the other one. It's about quality results in terms of agitation. With the steel one I used to turn upside down the tank 4 time every minute, my professional printer said that paterson have a their own system that allows not to invert the tank; that system is save from air bubbles and oxidation caused from invert upside down the tank. What do you others people think about that?
Xmas Posted May 15, 2010 Share #6 Posted May 15, 2010 'Fine art' printing is very difficult to learn. But I'd recommend starting to learn or getting another pro printer. Noel
