Agent M10 Posted May 4, 2010 Share #1 Posted May 4, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I took out my MP and loaded up a roll of film and the camera's locked down. The cocking lever won't budge, the shutter button won't depress, and the rewind lever is down and won't return to upright. The camera is mint, just haven't used it in 3 months or so. What could be the problem?

antistatic Posted May 4, 2010 Share #2 Posted May 4, 2010 Is the film jammed? This happened to me once. The film cassette was not sitting all the way down in its slot and the film jammed and locked the camera.
mby Posted May 5, 2010 Share #3 Posted May 5, 2010 Had the same thing some years back, reason was that one of the gear wheels of the cocking mechanism broke; my Mp had to travel to Solms (but didn't take long to repair... Best, Michael
Xmas Posted May 5, 2010 Share #4 Posted May 5, 2010 Had the same thing some years back, reason was that one of the gear wheels of the cocking mechanism broke; my Mp had to travel to Solms (but didn't take long to repair... Best, Michael Hi Could be but flip open the back and try and roll the spocket shaft back and forward gently, If that does not work leave in airing cupboard for 24 hours and try the sprocket shaft again note the rewind lever can be pushed gently back you don't have to let it unlatch by itself More likely is you have left it unused for 3 months. You will be banned for the form for ever now for 'cameraphilia'. Noel
