Lumistu Posted May 3, 2010 Share #2 Posted May 3, 2010 Definitely the hand grip, and for sunny days, an external viewfinder. You may also want to get the filter adaptor and a polariser filter.

Lumistu Posted May 3, 2010 Share #4 Posted May 3, 2010 I use the Voigtlander 15mm D Optical viewfinder. It's angle of view covers the D-LUX 4 at the 24mm setting, and it is a lot cheaper than the other two.
Dopaco Posted May 3, 2010 Author Share #5 Posted May 3, 2010 Lumistu: Where I can find it. Thank you
Lumistu Posted May 3, 2010 Share #6 Posted May 3, 2010 I got mine from a shop in dowtown Mexico City. Fortunately, they also had the 24mm and 18mm versions, and I was able to mount them on my D-lux 4 for comparison. Like I said before, the 15mm was the closest equivalent to the 24mm angle of view in the camera. Camera quest in the USA sells them, but make sure you get the 15mm D (with a brightline). Voigtlander Bessa RF Accessories However, be aware that the Voigtlander viewfinder does not let the flash pop out all the way. This is not an issue for me because I don't need the viewfinder when indoors, and if I need it as fill light for a portrait outoors, I simply slide the viewfinder off. It's a small compromise for the price.
viramati Posted May 4, 2010 Share #7 Posted May 4, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) the hand grip transforms the ergonomics of this great little camera. I have the panasonic 24 viewfinder (brighter, clearer and half the price than than the leica one) but never really use it
Dopaco Posted May 4, 2010 Author Share #8 Posted May 4, 2010 Lumistu, viramati. Thank you for commenting Manual instructions: Panasonic LX3 .. 14 Mb Leica D-lux 4 ..... 6 Mb Better the LX3
regedit Posted May 4, 2010 Share #9 Posted May 4, 2010 funny, to judge the quality of instruction manual from the file size maybe leica use a better pdf compression .... how bizarre!
ho_co Posted May 5, 2010 Share #10 Posted May 5, 2010 Dopaco-- FWIW, there are two versions of the LX3 instructions, one more highly compressed than the other. Another item you might consider is the wide angle adapter. The optical quality of the unit may be the reason Leica stripped all mention of it from the firmware and from the instructions. It's definitely a matter of taste. It adds barrel distortion and chromatic aberration, but it does make for a wider field of view.
