Paolo.Battista Posted April 30, 2010 Share #1 Posted April 30, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all. I have the opportunity to try an Elmarit-R 100 f:2.8 APO macro before buying it. I noticed something "strange" when reaching the shortest focusing distance. The minumum focusing distance seems to be about 54 cm instead of the 45 fo the datasheet, and looking at the macro scale printed on the lens body I can barely see the foot of the next printed number after the 1:4 mark (what should it be the next one? 1:3 or directly 1:2?). Anyone can suggest me what can I check? Best regards. Paolo
Advertisement Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Hi Paolo.Battista, Take a look here Problem with a APO 100 Elmarit-R 2.8 macro. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
tobey bilek Posted April 30, 2010 Share #2 Posted April 30, 2010 The lens focus mount has been taken apart and reassembled improperly or it was wrong from the factory. It is potentially more serious than losing minimum focus because the movement of interior elements is supposed to move in corordination with focus distance. I suggest you leave it where it is. Looking BEFORE you buy is always better. Congradulations.
