The issue of compatibility

I am looking at the Zeiss 25 2.8f Biogon lens for use on my M6. Could someone tell me how the framelines would show up if I mounted this lens on the camera? ...or will they not show at all? From all accounts it looks like a decent lens for the money (a not insignificant consideration for me) but if it is going to be a nightmare getting some work done by a technician to 'marry' the two, I might abandon the idea altogether...

Please advise.

No repair or modifications needed. All you'll need is an auxiliary viewfinder since the M6 doesn't have framelines wider than 28mm.

The Zeiss 25/28 finder will give you correct framing with this lens - and also with any Leica 28mm lens in the future.

Hi

If you have got a .7 x finder on the M6 then the whole field of view is a little less than the 25mm, -difficult with specs, you can do this in a hurry e.g. if you have not a shoe finder fitted or if the subject warrants. The shoe finders make good footballs when they fall off - don't ask.

Think the 25 will bring up the 9cm frame in a M6.

The ZM lens is big the CV 25mm (LTM and M) are significantly smaller. If you are going to carry the ZM all the time then you may need to buy a bigger cam bag.

The ZM has peerless performance, if you use a tripod and high resolution film, or chimp a M8, you might detect the difference.
