Tullahoma Posted April 24, 2010 Share #1 Posted April 24, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Sometimes flowers can show up better when converted to black and white. This dogwood branch was photographed against a clear, blue sky. Olympus E-1 with Leica Elmarit-R 60/2.8 Macro, ISO 200, RAW.

pauledell Posted April 24, 2010 Share #2 Posted April 24, 2010 Beautiful composition, contrast, tones, sharpness and the apparent dark background. Paul
Tullahoma Posted April 24, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted April 24, 2010 Thanks, Paul. I notice that this image is much sharper and clearer in my LUG gallery than it appears here. Does the software do something to the images when they are uploaded? Jim N.
pop Posted April 24, 2010 Share #4 Posted April 24, 2010 I notice that this image is much sharper and clearer in my LUG gallery than it appears here. Does the software do something to the images when they are uploaded? The forum imposes limits on the width, height and size (in bytes) of the image you may show. If you exceed the limits while uploading, the forum software will aggressively shrink the image for you. Since your image is rather smaller than 90 kB, this appears to be the case. The cure consists of compressing your image to just under 293 kB before uploading it here. Stunning picture, BTW.
Tullahoma Posted April 24, 2010 Author Share #5 Posted April 24, 2010 To try to improve the image reproduction, I downsized it from 383kb to 269.5kb. I will see how this looks. There does seem to be some improvement. Thanks for the guidance. Jim N.
